Osprey Talon 44 Pack

If you are looking for the Osprey Talon 44 you have come to the right place.

Selecting the right hiking pack can be a difficult and time consuming task for anyone to go through, that's why  I took the time and looked around at different online stores and found some helpful reviews and good prices.

The Osprey Talon 44 is an incredibly lightweight pack, and that is good because you don’t want a good part of your starting weight to be your backpack. While it is light it is quite durable. This Talon 44 comes in two sizes, s-m or m-l. The s-m weighs 2lb 6 oz and the m-l weighs 2lb 10 oz. The main body of the Talon 44 is made from light weight nylons like a stretch woven nylon front and side pouches, these light weight elements keep the weight now to a bare minimum. The structure is built from a lightweight fiberglass and aluminum composites, that also maintains the weight to a minimum. For a pack being so compact it is not designed to carry an exceeding amount of weight, a comfortable total of weight is about 30 lb, I wouldn’t go beyond that.

This Osprey Talon is very comfortable. This pack features the Osprey AirScape™ back panel to let air circulation in the back. This is certainly a key feature in my mind because who wants a sweaty back, so this feature helps keep me cooler. The hip belt and shoulder straps are mesh covered and provide good ventilation, there is also just the right amount of cushioning to keep you comfy. This pack when packed proper has the ideal center of gravity for me and maintaining good balanced when hiking.

I really like the size of this Osprey Talon 44. It sits reasonably low so you wont hit your head when leaning your head back and it doesn’t get in the way with a wide brim cap if you use one. I had the ability to fit all of the equipment I needed for our 2 1/2 day trip to Havasupi inside easily. I fit my 35° mummy bag, 3 days of food, my cook kit and stove, my sleeping bag, a change of clothes, and my camp shoes comfortably. I also had a camelback in the back and some miscellaneous items in the top loader. Everything was readily available. I really like the big top loader because you fit a lot in there that you will need to get too quickly.  The front and side flexible  pockets are excellent as well, I could very easily stick my rain gear in the front so I could have fast access to it, or you could put a helmet in there too, the side pockets were excellent for water bottles and other stuff. If you are not as much of a minimalist you may want a larger size pack with more liters.

Complaints- I actually only have a couple of complaints about this pack. First thing, I would've like to see the medium large pack have a large waist belt. Occasionally it can get a little snug for me. Second complaint is I wish it had a built in rain cover, you can always buy one to fit if you desired and it is water restraint but if it is pouring you are definitely going to want a rain cover. Suggestions-

Overall, I really like this backpack for it's comfort-ability and how lightweight it is for overnight adventures.
